Dr. Beth Sanford, DNP, RN, ACN, CLC, is a nurse leader, educator, researcher, and public speaker dedicated to improving health and well-being through sun science, vitamin D research and translation to best practice.
With a background in public health, integrative nutrition, and policy advocacy, Dr. Sanford has worked extensively to address vitamin D deficiency, improve patient outcomes, impact population health challenges, and promote evidence-based preventive care. She has educated the public, trained healthcare professionals, influenced policy, and developed practical wellness solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare.
Outside of nursing, Dr. Sanford lived in Asia for five years, where she embraced diverse cultures and even braved the adventurous experience of eating a tarantula. A passionate traveler, she has explored various corners of the world, but her heart is always drawn back to the rugged beauty of the western North Dakota, where she loves to hike in the badlands and sit under the canvas of the northern lights. Devoted to community service, she has a genuine love for people and deeply values the importance of family and friends in her life. She often jokes that if she could get paid for giving unsolicited health advice, she’d be a multimillionaire. Whether it’s enjoying a daily cup of tea, music, reading, or sharing a hearty belly laugh, these simple pleasures allow her soul to catch up with her body when life is moving too fast.
